Every football-loving dad hopes for two things:
1. Their son will share their passion for the game;
2. Their son will follow the paternal footsteps and support the correct team.
If you follow a smaller team that are strangers to constant success, it can prove even harder to sway your son in the proper direction.
Herald writer Graeme Macpherson has his fingers crossed that he's already laid the appropriate ground-work to have his son follow in his own footsteps, and support the boys from Paisley, St. Mirren. Graeme's six-week old son undoubtedly enjoyed the Buddies' 1-0 slaying of Rangers at Ibrox almost as much as his dad did, showing you really can't start the young ones early enough.
